N.O.A.A. forecast light scattered snow showers all day today, but we did not see any here in Wilton, Maine. There has been cold air filtering in all day and our high for the day was only 7°F higher than our low this morning. At least we have not had any more snow. It does seem that this afternoon and evening are good for watching the playoff football games. I am not thrilled with the idea of getting outside which is why I put a healthy load of wood in my Outdoor Wood Boiler yesterday afternoon. I may have to put some in tomorrow morning, depending on how much heat the house calls for tonight.
The N.W.S. does not foresee any precipitation for the overnight. They expect the cloud cover to remain steady (15%/16%/18%/16%). They also expect the relative humidity to stay in the 50% range. That should make my Weather Stick smile all night long.
Speaking of my Weather Stick, it is smiling at the 52% relative humidity. I guess this morning it just had not caught up with the changes in the relative humidity. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. Two of them call for fair weather while the remote weather station says it is going to be unsettled. I do not quite believe that latter one. The high temperatures today (if you can call them that) were 17.2°F, 19.3°F and 28.6°F. I am not sure I believe the temperature in the barn, but that is what was recorded. I think we may well be into the single numbers below zero overnight with clear skies and low relative humidity. Wrap up in a warm afghan and enjoy the games.

For the today the N.W.S. had all four temperature forecasts and relative humidity forecasts within the set limits.
