N.O.A.A. forecast no precipitation overnight, and I for one am glad they were right. I certainly would not like to be outside blowing snow off the driveways in this kind of cold weather. It did get down into the single numbers below zero overnight, and it does not have to get any colder on my account. My Wood Boiler did keep the house warm (or reasonably so) overnight. You can still tell that it is cold out because the kitchen is below 60°F. I guess we will be doing some cooking and baking today to warm things up today.
For today the N.W.S. is still forecasting no precipitation, but they do not see the temperature getting out of the teens. The forecast relative humidity should keep my Weather Stick smiling all day. Right now I am not seeing any cloud cover despite the forecast from the N.W.S. with 14%/17%/19%/27% clouds for today. I think any clouds that show up will have their moisture sucked right into the atmosphere as relative humidity.
My Weather Stick is smiling, not as strongly as it frowns, but it is smiling at the 52% relative humidity. All three of the electronic instruments are forecasting fair weather with rising barometric pressure. The recorded low temperatures were -2.3°F, -2.3°F and -4.8°F (in the barn). The NEXRAD regional composite radar only sees some lake effect snow east of Lake Ontario. The Weather Underground model forecast maps see no storms today, but we may have something on the horizon for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday noontime. That will merit some further discussion as it gets closer. I think we will have a pretty day, but not one where people will want to get outside for any more time than is absolutely necessary. How about the Patriots, now 18-0 on the season.

For the overnight the N.W.S. had all four temperature forecasts and relative humidity forecasts within the set limits. Once again they have done an excellent job of informing us what we could expect today. We may not have wanted it, but it is what we have gotten. Kudos to the N.W.S. for this set of forecasts.
