I Missed Another One-An Inch Of Flurries!
N.O.A..A. forecast light snow for the overnight, and when I did last night's report it was mostly cloudy, but the clouds appeared to be breaking up. I was surprised when I stepped outside with Ike to find a fresh coating of snow measuring about an inch on top of the old dirty snow. It looked nice anyway. It did get much colder than N.O.A.A. predicted, but it has started to warm up.
For today the N.W.S. sees no precipitation through noon, but clouds moving in (33%/48%/64%/72%) with the possibility of light scattered snow showers for the rest of the day. The only precipitation I saw on the NEXRAD regional composite radar was a snow shower moving into the Canadian Maritimes at 06:20. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show us storm free for the next couple of days, and maybe through the weekend.
My Weather Stick is frowning again at the 81% relative humidity. My La Cross Weather Station currently sees unsettled conditions with a mix of sun and clouds and rising barometric pressure. The other two electronic instruments forecast foul weather with falling barometric pressure. As I look outside I see some cumulus clouds, and the sky is red as the sun is coming up. That usually indicates some foul weather in our near future. Our low temperatures at this location were 2.8°F, 11.7°F* and 12.7°F. I marked the Min/Max Thermometer reading with an asterisk because it went off line, and when I got it back the temperature was 11.7°F which was close to the reading I had for the La Crosse Weather Station at 06:00 hours. I think we may actually break into the upper twenties today which will be a nice change from what we have had the past few days. I will be surprised if we have any snow this afternoon, but it is possible.
