This Was A Very Pleasant Day!!

N.O.A.A. predicted no precipitation for the first half of the day and that was right. They also predicted light scattered snow showers for the second half of the day. I had to be out an about and looking at the hills surrounding Wilton, Maine I was able to see some showers falling from the clouds, just as we do during the summer when there are showers around on a summer afternoon. Those showers are rain these are snow. The only difference is the temperature. There were some big puffy cumulus clouds around just like we have during the summer as well.
For tonight the N.W.S. forecasts light scattered snow showers for the first half of the period with those showers dissipating and no precipitation for the second half. That was just the opposite of the cloud cover forecast (70%/76%/82%/88%). There was nothing on the NEXRAD regional composite radar, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps still indicate a stretch of nice weather for the rest of the week. It may be cold, but there should not be any precipitation according to those forecast maps.
My Weather Stick is smiling due to 55% relative humidity. That makes it feel colder outside because our perspiration evaporates off the skin more rapidly. So, dry cold, like dry heat, makes it feel colder than it is. We do have a variety of forecasts by the electronic instruments. The La Crosse Weather Station is calling for unsettled weather with rising barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer is calling for the same. The remote weather station forecasts foul weather with rising barometric pressure. That is different. They recorded high temperatures today of 32.5°F. 30.2°F and 28.8°F. When I looked out earlier I saw some clouds, but no more showers, so that is what I will predict. No precipitation tonight, but temperatures will be cold.

For today the N.W.S missed the 07:00 forecast for the relative humidity and the 07:00 hour forecast for the temperature. They had all the rest of the forecasts correct. Not great, but not a bad job.
