Another Night Well Below Freezing!

N.O.A.A. predicted no precipitation overnight, but they did not account for some local snow showers like the one we had around 23:00 last night. That lasted about 5 minutes and was gone. The overnight low did not occur until 08:00 hours this morning, and now we are looking at filtered sun through the cirrus clouds that are overspreading the area around Wilton, Maine.
For today the N.W.S. is again forecasting no precipitation. The forecast cloud cover (53%/49%/45%/33%) does support that as it decreases throughout the day. The NEXRAD regional composite radar shows some snow in Southern New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, but it does not appear to be moving in our direction. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate a major offshore storm, but that too does not appear to be moving in our direction. It is supposed to remain off shore with only some clouds for our area.
My Weather Stick is smiling at the 71% relative humidity, but just a little. Two of the electronic instruments forecast fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts unsettled conditions with rising barometric pressure. The low temperatures recorded this morning were 6.6°F, 8.8*°F and15.4°F. The sky currently has a milky appearance due to the cirrus clouds that moved in. The temperature is on the rise and is already 16.7°F and seems to be headed for the upper twenties. As long as the cloud cover continues to decrease we may actually get there. If we do it will be a pleasant day to get outside and enjoy the activities that winter can provide. I may even take Ike out in the field for some training. He does seem to enjoy that so much. There does not seem to be much activity on the storm track until around mid-week. After that it is anybody's guess.

The only forecast temperature that the N.W.S. missed overnight was at 22:00 hours. I should note that there was a power failure around 18:50 hours, and data was lost from there to 00:28 hours, therefore I have placed asterisks on those two recorded temperatures and relative humidities. All four of the relative humidity forecasts were within limits overnight.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: 09°F/16F/23°F/24°F.
Relative Humidity: 69%/51%/38%/38%
