And We Still Have Not Gotten Above Freezing!

There are places, according to the TV weather prognosticators that have gotten above freezing today but Wilton, Maine was not one of them. N.O.A.A. forecast that we would not have any precipitation, very little cloud cover and temperatures remaining in the mid to upper twenties. They had this one right. It was basically a pretty day with lots of sun, but the temperature still did not go above freezing. On one of my electronic instruments it did get a little over thirty, but still did not break 32°F.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecasts a continuation of no precipitation until 04:00 hours when we stand a chance for some light scattered snow showers. This in response to the ocean storm that is east of us. The cloud cover forecast (39%/41%/44%/47%) would support both ends of that forecast. There is still some snow in southern New York and Pennsylvania, but these are snow showers not associated with the ocean storm off the coast of New Jersey. The Weather Underground maps are back on line and do not show anything of significance until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
My Weather Stick Was Smiling around 05:15 and the relative humidity then was 50%, so that makes sense. The rest of the data reported below is from 22:30 hours. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. Two of them forecast fair skies while the remote weather station predicts unsettled conditions. I am not sure that we will see any snow showers overnight, but we could if all the elements come together. We did have high temperatures today of 25.1°F, 30.2°F and 27.1°F. We have already equaled our low temperature from this morning, and I suspect that we will see some single numbers below zero overnight. Bundle up, it is going to be a cold one tonight. I had heard that we were supposed to have a moderating trend in the temperature over the weekend.
High Temperature (°F): 25.1
Current Temperature (°F): 6.6
Relative Humidity (%): 69%
Dew Point (°F): -1.6

Wind Speed (mph): 0.0
Wind-Chill (°F): 6.6

Comparative data for today.
Temperature:09°F/08.5°F//16°F/18.1°F//23°F/25.5°F//24°F/25.1°F
Relative Humidity: 69%/70%//51%/67%//38%/53%//38%/46%

The N.W.S. did do well with the temperature. They got them all correct or within limits. They had the relative humidity correct within limits (10%) at 07:00 hours and at 16:00 hours. They did miss the middle of the day. Oh well, tomorrow is another day and another chance to get it right.
Forecast data for the overnight.
Temperature: 16°F/12°F/8°F/6°F.
Relative Humidity: 67%/88%/91%/96%
