Yet Another Storm!!

Starting at 17"
Once again N.O.A.A. had the predominant weather correct. About 10 minutes after I posted my morning report the snow started in earnest. That kept up until almost 15:00 hours. When it stopped there was about 5" of new snow on the ground. By the time I got my camera and took a couple of photos the snow had settled to about 3 inches of new snow on the ground.

Ending at 20"/total of 3" after compaction.
To go from 5" to 3" in less than an hour is a bit hard to take, but that is what happened. Our high temperature occurred at 22:02 last night and was 36.5°F.
For tonight the N.W.S. forecasts Icing conditions early with steadier and heavier snow for the rest of the period. There is snow headed our way on the NEXRAD regional composite radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps currently show the storm system going significantly south of us. The N.W.S. cloud cover forecast does not agree with that forecast with 100% overcast all night. To me that would indicate some stormy weather, but I am just an amateur.
My Weather Stick is frowning at the 86% relative humidity. It feels about as wet out there now as it did this morning. The clouds west of us appear to be about the same as they were at 07:00 this morning, and we saw what happened by 07:15 hours. All three of my electronic instruments indicate foul weather and falling barometric pressure. I am not sure if that is a wall of snow or a fog bank headed toward us. Our high temperatures were 36.5°F, 37.3°F and 34.3°F. The latter two were during the day and the former was from 22:02 last night on the La Crosse Weather Station. The sky looks strange, and I am just not sure what we are going to get, but I think we will get something out of this storm system. Ah well, winter in Maine we have to love it, always a surprise in store.

The N.W.S. forecast the temperature correctly and only missed the 13:00 hour relative humidity forecast, and that only by 5%. Once again this is not a bad result for looking into the future to see what the weather will be.
