07:30 And It Is Still Snowing

Here We Go Again
Overnight the snow arrived and kept falling just as N.O.A.A. predicted. We have had an additional 6" on top of the five we had yesterday. The stuff is still falling. As you can see it makes a nice frosting on the trees, but, like many others I am ready for green.

Now Another 6 Inches-It Is Still Falling
For today the N.W.S. forecasts a period of snow followed by three periods of light scattered snow showers. The NEXRAD regional composite radar indicates that the back edge of the storm is getting close, so we can expect it to stop sometime soon. The Weather Underground model forecast maps seem to indicate that the system is moving through Eastern Maine now, and should end later this afternoon. I hope so, although the forecast cloud cover is 100% for the entire day.
My Weather Stick is Frowning, in fact I would say it looks quite angry about the continued high relative humidity. Further there is no agreement among my electronic instruments. My La Crosse Weather Station calls for more foul weather with falling barometric pressure. My Min/Max Thermometer forecasts unsettled conditions with rising barometric pressure. Finally, the remote weather station forecasts foul weather with steady barometric pressure. They did record low temperatures of 19.5°F, 19.8°F and 24.8°F in the same order as above. Looking toward the west I still see quite a bit of snow coming, so I am not sure when it will stop. We may yet get a couple more inches of snow out of this. The Driveway is now nearly finished, although I still need to get the area up near the barn cleaned out. Once this stops we can only wait for the Saturday evening event. Someone once told me that February was our big snow month, and this year I guess they were right.
