Now We Deal With Blowing & Drifting Snow!
I cannot be sure because I did not stay up to watch it, but there may have been some snow showers overnight. There is no way to tell because of the blowing and drifting snow. I have my snow gauge in a relatively protected area, and, despite that, at least 6" of the snow was blown away. The gauge now reads 26" total on the ground. Much of the snow has been blown off the trees as
well. So, I cannot say for sure if N.O.A.A. was correct with the predominant weather forecast overnight, but I suspect that there was some additional snow, just no accumulation.
For today the N.W.S. forecasts blowing snow, and we have already had that as was noted above. I will need to blow the driveways again, but I am going to wait until noontime anyway to see if the wind settles down a bit. It is cold out there, and the wind will make it quite miserable. To our west I still see stratus clouds, but early this morning there were some stratocumulus clouds with a few breaks where we could see some stars. Those were few and far between. The cloud cover is expected to dissipate some over the day (89%/75%/60%/54%) making way for a little sunshine. That would be a good thing.
My Weather Stick is only grimacing this morning as a result of the wind and 77% relative humidity. All three of the electronic instruments are calling for rising barometric pressure. Two of them call for fair skies while the remote weather station forecasts foul weather. I guess it just has not caught up with the rise in barometric pressure. The snowplow has just gone down the road filling up our driveways again. I am glad I have waited on clearing out the drifted snow. It seems that we will be dealing with this wind for most of the day, so I may be blowing snow more than once before this whole system is gone and the next storm system arrives. That, by the way, is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, and should be about a 12 hour event according to the Weather Underground model forecast maps. Just so you know, the storm we had yesterday seems to be just about out of Eastern Maine. Good riddance to that as well. The recorded low temperatures for this morning were 7.8°F, 8.9°F and 12.4°F.

The N.W.S. forecast the temperature within limits for all four periods overnight. They missed all of the relative humidity forecasts
for the overnight. That parameter was recorded as being much higher than they forecast. I do not know why, that is just the way it is.
