The Next Storm System Is Here!!

It Is Happening Again: This Was Yesterday Before The Next Storm Hit
It is already snowing here in Wilton, Maine as N.O.A.A. predicted. They also predicted that this would change to ice by 07:00, but that has not happened yet. In fact it is snowing harder now than it was at 06:00 when I got up. At 15°F I do not see it changing to sleet or freezing rain unless there is a lot of warm air overriding this cold air at the surface. I suppose anything is possible.
The N.W.S. forecasts ice all day, and, I reiterate, I do not see that happening. I do think the 100% cloud cover forecast for the entire day probably is correct. There is a significant area of precipitation to our south and west that is moving in our direction according to the NEXRAD composite regional radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps show this as an 18 hour event, and it started at about midnight. Right now we have about 6" of new snow, and I cannot see more than 150' down the road.
My Weather Stick is frowning at the 84% relative humidity and snow. All three of my electronic instruments forecast falling barometric pressure, and indeed it has fallen. The La Crosse Weather Station is issuing a storm alert. That means that the barometric pressure has fallen precipitously. The Min/Max thermometer calls for foul weather and the remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions. I guess it just is not as sensitive as the other two instruments, and it takes a greater change in the pressure to activate a different forecast. With 6" of new snow on the ground and more falling rapidly I would not be surprised to see more than a foot of the white stuff out of this storm. Some people have said they wanted an old fashioned wither. Well, be careful what you wish for, you are liable to get it. Right now most people I talk to are ready to mow lawns and plant gardens. I must say that I fall into that category.

The N.W.S. did well with the temperature overnight. They got them all right. They did not do as well with the relative humidity. They missed them all. I cannot come up with an excuse for that, it is just the fact.
Forecast data for today.
Temperature: /11°F/22°F/30°F/31°F.
Relative Humidity: 59%/58%/69%/75%
