A Very Clear Cold Night!
As the Lunar Eclipse got started last night it also started to get very cold. The more it progressed the colder it got. By the time it reached totality I was finished. It was absolutely clear, and the stars looked like diamonds in the sky.

N.O.A.A. predicted light scattered snow showers for the first half of the overnight, and they just did not happen. There was not a cloud in the sky to produce any precipitation. It was a great night to observe the Eclipse.
For today the N.W.S. predicts a day very similar to yesterday with slightly colder temperatures and less overcast. It was about 5 degrees colder this morning than it was yesterday, so it looks like they are right so far. The NEXRAD regional composite radar is showing no echoes anywhere in our area of Wilton, Maine. There are no storms moving in our direction according to the Weather Underground model forecast maps. In fact, the storm that is on the map for tomorrow evening appears to be a strictly coastal/Southern Maine event, and should not affect us here in the mountains and foothills.
My Weather Stick is getting to smile again because of the 59% relative humidity. That will help to make it feel colder out there than it is. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. Two of them forecast fair skies while the remote weather station forecasts unsettled conditions. I think that we will see clear skies with very few if any clouds, cold temperatures with nasty wind chills. I do not think I want to spend a lot of time outside today. We did have low temperatures this morning of 0.3°F, 3.4°F and 13.1°F (the latter in the barn with the critters).

The N.W.S. had the temperature forecast correctly for the overnight. The only relative humidity forecast they missed was at 19:00 hours, and that only by 2% (within the limits of +/- 10%). Once again this was a pretty good showing on their part.
