Guess What, It Is Snowing Again.

The snow has continued to fall for most of the evening. I should note that it started around noon. That is what N.O.A.A. said this morning, and this evenings forecast seems to be correct also. We have had around 2" of new snow in our area of the foothills of Western Maine. The temperature is already in the mid-teens.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecast snow tapering to light snow from west to east. The NEXRAD regional composite radar indicates that this should be ending before morning. This is the same thing that the Weather Underground model forecast maps have indicated. The cloud cover should be starting to dissipate as well (96%/80%/64%/55%) as indicated by the N.W.S. forecast.
My Weather Stick is responding to the 74% relative humidity by being expressionless. My La Crosse Weather Station is showing a storm alert with falling barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer forecasts foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The remote weather station only says cloudy conditions, but it also calls for the barometric pressure to fall. I would guess that a low pressure system is moving through the area bringing with it some snow, and we have now had about 2" of new snow bringing our total on the year to 65" and on the season to 118". We are closing in on 10' of snow for this season. That should be good news for the ski areas. In the same order as above we had high temperatures of 23.7°F, 26.1°F and 16.9°F. I think the snow will end overnight and the clouds will clear tomorrow morning. We are still not out of the grip of the cold weather. As the clouds dissipate expect the temperatures to fall even further than they did last night. Oh well, four more weeks before we reach the vernal equinox and spring can begin. That is celestial spring not meteorological spring. We can have snow right up until the middle of May, and we have.

The N.W.S. had all four of the temperature forecasts within the five degree limit. However, they missed three of the four relative humidity forecasts. I do not know why, but that is what they did.
