N.O.A.A. called for light scattered snow showers to start, but they did not happen. Instead we had a delightful day with temperatures that broke the freezing mark, and made it comfortable to get some wood out of the woodpile and load the stove up in good shape. The clouds did continue to the east, and at sunset there were almost none in the sky. I have noticed that sunset does seem to be getting later and later. That is good.
The N.W,S. is forecasting no precipitation for the overnight and very clear skies (7%/7%/8%/7%). Usually that would allow for some significant radiational cooling, but they do not forecast temperatures nearly as cold as last night. There is nothing showing up on the NEXRAD regional composite radar, and the Weather Underground model forecast maps predict a nice night followed by an equally nice day tomorrow.
The recorded high temperatures on the three instruments were 35.7°F/34.2°F/29.7°F. My Weather Stick was smiling for a change, and the 53% relative humidity made it so. All three of the electronic instruments forecast foul weather with falling barometric pressure. I am not sure I believe that. It looks more like the sky will clear and we will have a basically cloudless night. I would be surprised to find more snow on the ground in the morning.

The N.W.S. missed the 16:00 hour temperature forecast. They had the rest of them correct. They were correct within limits for all four of the relative humidity forecasts. That was a pretty good job for today.
