A New Month And The Same Pattern!!

Apparently N.O.A.A. had the predominant forecast correct since we rose to about 3 inches of new snow on the ground. It really was not very cold when I took Ike out for his morning constitutional. So, here we go again with more snow. Right now there are 38" of snow on the ground with more falling. Unless we get some gradual warming we will have snow on the ground until June. If we do get some rapid warming we could wind up with a repeat of 1987. With, now, 144" of snow on the season, and much of it in place north of us we could have problems very soon.
The N.W.S. forecast light snow showers this morning, early, with heavier snow for the rest of the day. The NEXRAD regional composite radar does show that the storm has reformed off Cape Cod and is aiming straight at us. This is what the Weather Underground model forecast map said as well. The cloud cover is expected to be 100% all day as well
My Weather Stick is frowning at the 82% relative humidity. Is it any wonder that it is snowing. My La Crosse Weather Station forecasts a storm with falling barometric pressure. Also my Thermo/Hygro unit is covered by snow, so I would expect to see some errors in the temperature readings until the snowpack begins to disappear. This is clearly shown in the following photo.

The other two electronic instruments forecast foul weather with falling barometric pressure. I think that we could see the end of the snow gauge before the end of this storm.

The N.W.S. missed the temperature forecast at 19:00 hours overnight, but they got the rest of them correct. They only missed the 22:00 hour forecast for the relative humidity. This was not a bad result for them.
