Another Cold Start, But The Sun Is Shining.

When I first checked the low temperatures they were around 13°F, and they dropped a couple more degrees between 05:30 and 07:00. We had no clouds and no precipitation by the time I got outside with Ike for his morning constitutional. The lack of cloud cover probably contributed to the low temperatures. I am indeed looking forward to seeing my driveway free of ice, but that does not seem to be happening very quickly.
For today the N.W.S. calls for no precipitation, but they also expect the cloud cover to gradually increase (16%/28%/40%/66%). The NEXRAD regional composite radar does not show any precipitation close to us, but there is some along the western edge of the great lakes. I do not expect that to get here anytime soon. While the sky was clear this morning it was still red at sunrise, and that can portend some foul weather in our not-to-distant future.

Red Sky At Dawning, Better Take Warning
The Weather Underground model forecast maps do indicate some storm systems on their way for us, but they will not reach us until later tomorrow, and again on Sunday.
My Weather Stick is expressionless, responding to the 62% relative humidity. Good response. All three of my electronic instruments forecast rising barometric pressure. Two of them call for fair skies, while the remote weather station sees things as cloudy. I do see some cirrus clouds moving our way out of the west. So I will suggest that we will see those clouds increase, but they will not produce any precipitation, at least for today.
