We Had A Beautiful Spring Day, Without Question!
N.O.A.A. forecast a stellar day, and we had plenty of sunshine, some light breezes and temperatures in the high forties. The sky was totally clear, there were no clouds. We actually had a red sky at both ends of the day. I was actually able to get my Outdoor Wood Boiler completely filled so I will not have to do anything with it until at least Sunday, and maybe not even then. To do this takes about 2 hours and quite a bit of planning. The right stick of wood need to be selected, and then they need to be places carefully to pack the fire box completely. As I said I am looking forward to going 18 to 21 days without having to load it.
The N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation overnight, but they are calling for the clouds to begin to move in (21%/22%/23%/67%). This is in advance of a storm system that is expected to arrive around mid-morning tomorrow. What we get will definitely depend on the temperature. With the temperature currently at 30°F and continuing to fall I would expect it to start out as snow. If the temperature remains below freezing tomorrow we could have some significant snowfall again. Gee, it is the weekend, should we not have snow? The NEXRAD regional composite radar is starting to pick up some echoes well south of us, and they do not seem to be moving in our direction yet. The Weather Underground model forecast maps still indicate that we will see the storm start between 09:00 and 12:00 tomorrow. They do not show it ending until some 24 hours later.
My Weather Stick is responding to the 36% relative humidity by smiling broadly, but I am not sure it will be smiling tomorrow morning. My electronic instruments do agree that the barometric pressure is falling and will fall. They do not agree on the weather itself. The La Crosse Weather Station calls for foul weather, the Min/Max Thermometer sees unsettled conditions while the remote weather station is calling for cloudy conditions. I think clouds will move in, and we can expect some foul weather tomorrow morning. It may not hit the commute, but we will get something sometime tomorrow morning. The temperature did top 50V in the barn, but the Min/Max Thermometer could only manage 47.2°F and the La Crosse Station managed 48.2°F. That is the way I see it, but we will find out tomorrow what Mother Nature has in store for us.
