We Are Going Into The Weekend With Another Storm!

That is right, the sky has clouded over, and there is a perception that we will be seeing some precipitation before this day is over. It would not be the weekend if we did not have a storm moving in. It seems that we have had a storm every weekend since at least the first of the year. I keep looking out my west window expecting the maple tree to start showing some green leaves, but that just has not happened yet. At the rate things are going it will be July before we see any green on the trees. This is becoming discouraging.
The N.W.S has us starting with a light wintry mix by 07:00 (it has not started yet at 06:55), with that changing to rain by 11:00. The rain is then expected to continue for the rest of the day. The cloud cover forecast (71%/85%/100%/100%) certainly supports that forecast. The thought of more snow/ice and slippery conditions just shows the depth of this winter. I think even those people that wanted an old fashioned winter have had enough. I have not heard anyone calling for more snow. Even snowmobilers have said they do not want any more. There are areas on the lakes and ponds that are beginning to open up, so there is hope that we may be able to start fishing before June. The NEXRAD regional composite radar is showing this system just moving into southern Maine. So it will be a while before it gets here. The Weather Underground model forecast maps indicate that the storm will arrive in our area of Wilton, Maine around noon, and continue until around 15:00 hours tomorrow. As I have frequently said, "the longer it takes to get here, the longer it will take to get out of here."
My Weather Stick is smiling a little bit as a result of the 67% relative humidity. Our low temperatures went to the mid-twenties overnight (22.8°F/24.3°F/33.3°F), and that is cold for this time of year. All three of my electronic instruments indicate that the barometric pressure will continue to fall. Depending on which one you accept we will see foul weather, unsettled weather or just cloudy conditions today. I suspect we will wee unsettled weather this morning, but that will change to some form of precipitation by noon, and rain by the end of the day as the temperature struggles to get above freezing.
