A Crystal Clear Start To The Morning!

For the overnight N.O.A.A. forecast clear skies with no precipitation. That is exactly what we have had. The temperature came within three degrees of the freezing mark, so it is still quite cool. My lawn still needs mowing, and my garden plot still needs tilling. Both of those jobs need to be done before the sun sets on this week. I can then get the barn cleared, and use the organic matter from the barn to hold my Weed-X in place. That should help the tomatoes and squashes grow apace, once they are planted. A garden is a great way to save on fuel and food prices. Putting food by helps with the winter expenses as well.
For today the N.W.S. sees no cloud cover for the entire day, and no precipitation. That is a no-brainer. There is not even any ground clutter around Portland Maine this morning on the NEXRAD regional composite radar. The Weather Underground model forecast maps still indicate a slight chance for showers (light and scattered) for tomorrow. They are indicating a better chance for significant rain for Saturday.
My Weather Stick is smiling just a little, but with 84% relative humidity I would have expected more of a frown. Looking at the history it appears that the relative humidity has been rising all night, so maybe we are in a different mode with that weather stick, or maybe it will catch up later. All three of my electronic instruments forecast fair skies with rising barometric pressure. That is a good sign. Low temperatures overnight were 34.7*F, 37.1*F and 48.6*F (in the barn). At least it did not freeze overnight. It does look like we are going to have a picture perfect day with mild temperatures, clear skies and little or no wind. That latter will be a bit of a problem, since the black flies are out and about. They suck. It is time to get the repellant out to keep them at bay.

The N.W.S. had both parameters forecast within limits at all four times. This is one of the rare times that they have done this well. My congratulations to them for this effort.
