Another Very Pleasant Spring Day!
N.O.A.A. got the predominant weather and cloud cover right today. We had no clouds and no precipitation. The grass continues to grow apace under the influence of the sun and ground moisture. I say ground moisture because there are areas in my driveway that still show dampness, even late in the day. I went out to get started on the lawn and the starter died on my lawn mower. Ouch. Repair of that one is not an option at this point. I now have a new one that should last me over 10 years. I will be outside shortly to finish the job.
For the overnight the N.W.S. forecasts no precipitation for our area, but some light scattered showers moving in west of us. They also predict that the cloud cover will increase overnight (0%/5%/24%/59%), and there could be some showers in those clouds. The NEXRAD regional composite radar does show some showers associated with a frontal system moving in our direction, but they seem to be drying up as the move east. The Weather Underground model forecast maps continue to show that we may have some light scattered showers tomorrow, but nothing very significant.
My Weather Stick is smiling at the 56% relative humidity, and that is appropriate. My electronic instruments are having an argument. The La Crosse Weather Station calls for foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The Min/Max Thermometer sees fair skies with rising barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts unsettled weather with falling barometric pressure. The only thing I can conclude from all this is that there is a change coming in our near future, and that may help reduce the fire danger. It has to rain because I have started tilling my garden, and mowing my lawn.

The N.W.S. had the temperature forecast correctly at all four specified times. The were a bit aggressive in forecasting the relative humidity expecting it to be much lower than it actually was for the last half of the day.
