A Cool Night, But No Precipitation!

N.O.A.A. forecast no precipitation with increasing cloud cover, and by my estimate they had both conditions correct. There may have been some light scattered showers west of us this morning, but we had none here in Wilton, Maine. The clouds did not obscure the sun, but it certainly is not shining brightly this morning. Of course that is what altostratus clouds do, make the sun dull. The sour cherries on the west side of my yard are currently in full bloom, so I ma get a crop of them this year, if the birds do not get them all.
There are light scattered showers predicted by the N.W.S. all day today, but I am going to try to get my lawn mowed and garden tilled before they start. The weeds in the garden plot are already up about an inch, so if I can get a handle on them now maybe I will have a great garden this year. It is definitely going to take some effort. With the new mower I should be able to keep the lawn in reasonable shape, except for the ditches that the state left in front of my property. I still contend that those ditches were not necessary at the top of a hill. All they did was give the town a place to put the snow during the winter. The sides are too steep for me to mow, so I will let them go. The NEXRAD regional composite radar still shows some rain moving in our direction, but it seems to be continuing to move north of us. The Weather Underground model forecast maps are now showing a bit more rain for our area than they have for the past couple of days. I guess we will need to wait to see if we actually add to our rainfall total.
My Weather Stick is once again expressionless as a result of the 82% relative humidity, but that is a recent increase, so it may just need to catch up with the relative humidity. Once again my electronic instruments disagree on the forecast, but they all see the barometric pressure falling. The La Crosse Weather Station sees foul weather, the Min/Max Thermometer sees unsettled weather and the remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions. The low temperatures overnight did not make it into the thirties for the first time in quite a while (40.1*F/41.6*F/51.6*F). We may have a good growing season yet.

The N.W.S. had the temperature and relative humidity forecast correctly at all four specified times. There is nothing I can add to that.
