Fog And Freezing Temperatures Make For Interesting Driving Conditions!!

Wilton
Overnight the N.O.A.A. forecast fog, and we still have that fog in place this morning. The temperature is still below freezing, and that is making walking and driving interesting. At least fog "eats" snow, so even though it is below freezing some of our snowpack is beginning to disappear. As soon as the fog lifts (that should not take long) I have some errands to run. Isaac will get to go for a ride this morning. He does so enjoy that. For today the N.W.S. predicts we will start with some rain that will lighten up for a while and then return with a bit more vengeance. Their estimate of the cloud cover for today supports that forecast (80%/84%/87%/94%). There is quite a bit of rain moving in our direction according to the NEXRAD regional composite radar at 06:20 this morning. The Weather Underground model forecast maps also indicate the same, and that the rain will last until sometime tomorrow morning. That should also help reduce our snowpack. Between the fog and the clouds the relative humidity is back to causing my Weather Stick to frown again. 101_6615a.jpg 84% Relative Humidity/15.9°F Overnight the digital instruments recorded the following low temperatures (15.2°F/14.4.°F/18.5°F). Two of the digital instruments currently forecast foul weather with falling barometric pressure. The remote weather station forecasts cloudy conditions with falling barometric pressure also. The sky is currently overcast, and there is fog in place. I expect the fog to be "washed" our of the air by the rain that is on its way. We will wind up having a rainy and reasonably warm day. It will not be pleasant, but at least we will not have to shovel it. The N.W.S. missed the last two temperature forecasts overnight, and they missed the 04;00 hour forecast for the relative humidity. So, they get demerits for the overnight temperature and relative humidity forecasts. Forecast data for today. Temperature: 17°F/32°F/42°F/44°F Relative Humidity: 100%/96%/70%/68%
