It Is Still Warm, But With The Warmth Came Rain!!

Wilton
The N.O.A.A. forecast for the overnight was for Ice. The temperature did not allow for that, and we had rain instead. My driveway and walkway are a sheet of glass as the rain has mixed with the layer of snow to form a sheet of ice. It is foggy, the rain is falling, and it is still above freezing. Ike (and I) did not want to stay outside for very long, and he is already curled up on a chair drying out. The N.W.S. does not sound very hopeful for today. We are supposed to have rain for the first half of the day, and snow for the second half. With the temperatures where they are forecast to be (they are already rising) I would be inclined to expect rain for the entire day). The cloud cover forecast does support the idea of some form of precipitation all day today (100%/100%/100%/100%). There are plenty of echoes on the NEXRAD regional composite radar, all they way back to Cleveland Ohio, and that would be far enough to allow for precipitation into tomorrow. The Weather Underground model forecast maps still indicate precipitation until around 06:00 tomorrow morning. That should be enough to make things interesting. My Weather Stick looks much as it did during the summer. I think it has thawed out over the last couple of days. Let us be thankful for the respite from the bone chilling cold. 101_6505a.jpg 90% Relative Humidity/36.5°F Can you believe it, there is agreement among my digital instruments? They are all calling for falling barometric pressure. They all call for foul weather, with the La Crosse Weather Station issuing a storm alert. They did record low temperatures above the freezing mark (35.7°F/35.3°F/37.8°F). I think we are going to have a rainy day. If the cold air moves in overnight we could see a bit of snow on top of the rain. I do hope that will not happen because it will be quite a mess for travelers. The relative humidity at 22:00 was the only reading they missed. I will not give them demerits since they only missed the limit by 3%, but I cannot give them Kudos because of that. Forecast data for today. Temperature: 35°F/38°F/40°F/37°F Relative Humidity: 92%/82%/73%/82%
