All the prognosticators kept saying Saturday would be a nice day, and the pick of the weekend. Well, the N.O.A.A. actually got it right with the fog this morning clearing off and then light scattered shower for the afternoon. I would not call that a nice day. I got my tools together, and was ready to go out and plant and the showers started. We did not have enough to measure, but we did have enough to wet the pavement, and keep the soil from drying out. I have to have hope that they are wrong about tomorrow.
For the overnight the N.W.S. calls for light scattered showers through the first half of the period and steadier rain for the rest of it. The forecast cloud cover shown here supports that forecast(89%/94%/99%/98%). The NEXRAD regional composite radar looks about the same as it did Thursday. That does not bode well for tomorrow. In fact, looking at the Weather Underground model forecast maps, it does not look good until Tuesday. I guess we can never win. The best laid plans of mice and men oft gang aglae.
My Weather Stick, when I checked it at 18:00 hours, had responded to the 71% relative humidity and was pointed slightly up.
My digital instruments are all calling for fair skies and rising barometric pressure again. That does not fit well with the other forecasts of foul weather. We did record high temperatures from the mid-sixties to the upper seventies today (77.3°F/78.3°F/66.6°F). That made for a pleasant day, it just was not a good one to work outside. A comment was made today that here it is the middle of June, and we only have one window open. It has been cool at night, and open windows would have made for uncomfortable sleeping. I do not like frost on my toes.

The N.W.S. once again missed a couple of the temperature and relative humidity levels today. They get demerits again.
