Between
20:00 and 23:00 last night we had some more rain, and then again around
04:00 we had a little more making a total of about 0.04" of additional
rain from this system. Thus, the predominant weather forecast was right
by the N.O.A.A. The weather continues dank and threatening. I did note
that there are plants up in the furrows where they were laid down. It
looks like the corn is up. If so we are in for a great crop this year. The
N.W.S. says fog this morning with more light scattered showers this
afternoon. With the cloud cover forecast (100%/100%/100%/100%) I think
The rain stopped a little after 13;00 hours. I was outside, and we did have some very
light showers this afternoon after the steadier rain stopped. Needless to say I did not do any work outside
this afternoon or this morning. I still
have my potatoes, tomatoes and beans to get in the ground along with my
cucumbers and squashes. If I have read
When Ike and I went for his morning constitutional the clouds were moving in, but it had not yet started to rain. By 09:00 hours the rain had started and, as you will note we have had about 0.04". This should do some good for the gardens. Overnight there was no rain despite the N.W.S. forecast that we could get some light scattered showers during the second half of the period. Currently I am having intermittent connectivity with the internet due to the heavy cloud cover. This is not an unusual situation. I am not sure if there is also some effect from the leaves.

What an absolutely gorgeous day we had today. There were some clouds, a bit of a breeze and plenty of sunshine. All things considered this could not have been a better day.
I am finally back. I have had continuing computer issues, but I think they are now resolved. Most of my garden is now planted and I am starting to work with Ike again. The fall test is coming quickly. The leaves have burst forth as have many of the flowers. Today appears to be the pick of the week, and I still have a few things to get in the ground.
As I noted in my report of last night the N.O.A.A. predicted some more rain overnight, and they got that one right. From the appearance of the road and driveway the rain did not stop very long ago. There are still plenty of clouds, and the day has a dismal appearance. It is definitely gray out there and threatening as well. The N.W.S. contends that we will have a bit more steady rain this morning with that tapering to light scattered showers as the day wears on. The cloud cover is expected to decrease as well leaving us with some slightly clearer skies (85%/82%/68%/46%).
