I Am Back/Taxes Done/Been Fishing/Getting Caught Up!!

After the computer failure of March, and some starts and stops I am again generating my reports. I have most of the data, and will update my records gradually. The weather has been incredible for the past week. We have had clear skies, lots of sun, and lots of wind.

Oh Brother, It Got Back To Being Frigid Overnight!!

As the N.O.A.A. and I suggested last night the sky cleared and the temperature fell like a stone. We did not go below zero, but we certainly got close. Ike did not want to stay outside very long this morning, but he had to.

The Sky Cleared And It Was Red When The Sun Set!

The clouds dissipated faster than the N.O.A.A. forecast they would, leaving us with a very decent day. I was able to get outside this morning and get the snow blown off the driveway. I guess the snow near the front door of the barn will be there until it melts.

We Continue To Have Flurries Out Of This Storm!

This morning I had Ike outside by 05:45 hours and to my wondrous eyes what did I see but snow flurries falling on me. I thought the N.O.A.A. said we were done with this storm. They did forecast light scattered snow showers for the overnight, so I guess they were correct.

We Have Had Snow Off And On All Day!

We had periods of heavy snow, periods of light snow and periods of no snow throughout the day. This was not quite what the N.O.A.A. said we had in store, and we are in fact about 10" of snow light of their forecast.

The Promised Snow Has Arrived!!

Date: 3 /2 /2009 AM I do not think the storm arrived as early as the N.O.A.A. thought it would. When I took Ike out at about 06:00 hours we had about 2" of fresh snow on the ground. It was blowing and drifting, so it is difficult to tell just how much we have had.

Snow Is Supposed To Be Here

March 1, 2009 PM The N.O.A.A. forecast for today had us with rain all day. That just did not happen. It was overcast, but the clouds did not produce any precipitation.

My Station Is Back On Line

Date: 3 /1 /2009 AM Just before 21:00 hours on February 27th I heard and felt s significant loud noise coming from the north side of the house. When I started my evening report I found that my weather station was off-line. It was raining, but I went to check out the situation.

Fog And Freezing Temperatures Make For Interesting Driving Conditions!!

Overnight the N.O.A.A. forecast fog, and we still have that fog in place this morning. The temperature is still below freezing, and that is making walking and driving interesting. At least fog "eats" snow, so even though it is below freezing some of our snowpack is beginning to disappear.

Can You Believe It, Over 38°F Today For Our High!!

After I took Ike out this afternoon I looked at my Weeping Willow Trees. I think I can detect a small amount of the green aura around the end branches. Spring may actually be on the way. The N.O.A.A. forecast seems to have been about right.
